Family Assistance Program

Our Family Assistance Program was established in 2005, and it’s now our largest initiative. This vital program is led in Bucharest by our longest-term missionary in Romania, Samuel Serban, and in Alexandria by Domnita and John Matei. We seek to ensure that all children grow up in a safe, clean home with proper nutrition and health care. We assist families by providing fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses and necessary items like baby formula, diapers and vitamins. Additionally, we support home renovations or relocations for families living in inadequate conditions.

Beyond physical needs, we believe in the importance of strong family relationships and community bonds. Our program includes family camps, mother support groups, Bible studies and partnerships with local churches to foster community support. Participation in Christian activities isn’t required, but we openly share our faith and provide opportunities for engagement.

Education and vocational training are critical in breaking the cycle of poverty. Our program helps cover costs for college and vocational tuition, promoting self-sufficiency through education. We also support families in becoming self-reliant by providing resources for gardening, livestock and firewood for heating. Our commitment is to empower families and communities, ending the cycle of poverty and creating a lasting positive impact.
