Our Story
Deeply moved by the crushing hardships being endured by children in our Romanian homeland, we established Hope for the Future in 1998. From the beginning, we were committed to operating solely through the efforts of volunteers with no paid staff. This ensures that 100% of all donations go directly to our programs in Romania, helping young children and families trapped in cycles of poverty and homelessness. Hope for the Future still operates this way today.
For over 25 years, we’ve continued to seek ways to offer love and hope to the impoverished children of Romania and their families. Along the way, bureaucratic hurdles and government corruption have forced us to find alternative methods of providing this support. But we face these challenges one by one, knowing the impact these programs have on very real children and families. We encourage you to look through the pages of this website to learn more about the programs we offer. And let us know if you have any questions!
Our journey began with growing awareness of the seemingly hopeless plight of street children in Romania, young children without a home. This filled us with gratitude and respect for our grandfathers’ faith and courage, saving us from a similar fate. It also strengthened our resolve to continue this work, trusting in God’s provision for those in desperate need in Romania. We are humbly thankful for all of you, who support this work through one-time and monthly donations, and by giving generously through our annual dinners. We can’t tell you how much your support means to us, and to these families in Romania receiving real help and hope.
May God bless each of you! And may he continue to equip us to touch these precious lives with his love.
Thank you!
